Zinedine Zidane has particularly asked Florentino Perez to sign one of the most talked-about midfielders from the 2019/20 campaign
The midfield at Real Madrid has seen a few changes over the past few weeks. Oscar Rodriguez has been sold to Sevilla and Dani Ceballos has been given the green light for another season at the Emirates Stadium as Mikel Arteta is confident in getting the best out of the former Real Betis man.
Martin Odegaard has been called up to the senior squad and will most likely remain a senior team player for the 2020/21 season. James Rodriguez has been linked with a move to Everton as Carlo Ancelotti is keen on making the most out of the player he signed in the summer of 2014.
Isco has been linked with a move to Manchester City as well, it seems like Real might have a few more departures from the midfield department. And to balance the books, Zinedine Zidane has asked Florentino Perez to sign one of the most talked-about midfielders from the 2019/20 campaign.
Diaro GOL reports that the French manager has demanded the services of Houssem Aouar. The 22-year-old French midfielder has risen to prominence this season after Lyon’s promising run in the Champions League as the French side managed to knockout Juventus and Manchester City in the process.
Aouar’s creativity in the midfield has caught the eye of many. However, unlike a conventional number 10, Aouar provides the skillset of a number 10 while being a workhorse like a box to box midfielder.
His resilient style of play and getting past the opposition press has grabbed the attention of Manchester City, Arsenal, Juventus, and now Zinedine Zidane of Madrid. It is rumoured that the player is valued between 55-80 million euros.
Lyon’s Moussa Dembele and Memphis Depay have also been linked with moves away. Rudi Garcia is willing to stall the negotiations to keep the same squad intact for the 2020/21 season. However, although Zidane wants Aouar, Florentino Perez has turned down the idea.
Real are primarily focused on getting rid of James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale this summer and to raise money to sign their golden boy Kylian Mbappe, in the summer of 2021 from Paris Saint-Germain.
