Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking to make another signing from Liverpool, as they continue to strengthen the squad for the 2020-2021 season

Liverpool managed to win a Premier League trophy after 30 years in the 2019-2020 season with 32 wins out of 38 they played in the campaign. Among many players who played their part in this success, one was Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who made 30 appearances across the season in the league. But, the 27-year-old had to fight to maintain his position in the starting 11 and it was quite difficult for him to keep manager Jurgen Klopp’s trust.

One of the shortcomings that the Reds took away from the season that prevented them from achieving European success was their midfield. Consequently, a signing was made to make amends with Thiago Alcantara coming from Bayern Munich as a major addition to the team. Seeing his quality, the Spaniard would undoubtedly go on to be one of the indispensable figures at the club, which will, in turn, make opportunities to start in matches harder to come by for Chamberlain.

Currently, the player has suffered a knee injury which would make it even harder for him to regain his position at the club. Falling down the pecking order, the England international might be looking for a move away from Anfield, and reportedly Premier League counterparts Wolverhampton Wanderers have shown interest in signing the Liverpool player.

The former Southampton player arrived from Arsenal back in 2017 for a sum of 25 million euros, and the English champions would be looking to go forward with a sale if they receive an offer that will result in them recouping a similar figure. Wolves have been linked with a few players this transfer window, and with the departure of Diago Jota for 45 million euros, Nuno Santo would have some funds to work with to make favorable signings.

Recently, the Wanderers have proven to be a solid team and with a few more signings as improvements to some positions, they will be favorites to lift a few titles as well, and with the English league getting more competitive because of this transfer window, a few reinforcements would be of great help to the team. Though nothing is confirmed, a transfer for the 27-year-old seems highly likely and could turn out to be a move that will be beneficial for all parties concerned.
