Tottenham Hotspur line-up a 60-million-pound move for Inter Milan striker

Tottenham Hotspur are willing to offer up to 60 million pounds for Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez in the transfer market.

Tottenham Hotspur have started preparing for life without their star striker Harry Kane who has been linked with a transfer to Manchester City. The England international skipped two training sessions that seemed like an attempt to push for an exit but has now rejoined the squad at Enfield Training Centre.

Tottenham are aware of Kane’s intentions and have started their search for a replacement. Spurs have been linked with the likes of Dusan Vlahovic and Gabriel Jesus as possible signings but have now found a better alternative from Serie A.

Sky Sports reports that Tottenham Hotspur are willing to offer up to 60 million pounds for Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez. The Nerazzurri have recently agreed to a deal in principle over the transfer of Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea for 115 million pounds. It is highly unlikely that Inter would sell both their first-choice strikers in the same transfer window.

Martinez has been instrumental to Inter Milan in the past two seasons, he scored 17 goals in 38 league games last season to help fire his side to the Serie A title after an 11-year drought. The 23-year-old is on contract with the Italian giants until 2023 and is currently valued at 80 million euros on the transfer market.

Inter would certainly not entertain Tottenham Hotspur’s offer as they cannot afford to lose the Argentine after sanctioning Lukaku’s sale. Meanwhile, Simone Inzaghi’s side are looking into the option of signing AS Roma’s Edin Dzeko to replace their Belgian striker.

The 2020-21 Serie A champions are willing to offer Dzeko a two-year contract and have agreed to personal terms with the player but are yet to strike a deal with Roma. Inter have also kept close tabs on Atalanta’s Duvan Zapata who could be sold this summer if Tammy Abraham completes his move from Chelsea to Gewiss Stadium.

On the flipside, Tottenham will have to most likely strike-off Lautaro Martinez from their wishlist. Dusan Vlahovic might be Spurs’ best option currently in the transfer market to replace Harry Kane as the Serbian is available at an affordable transfer price.
