Following the signing of Pierluigi Gollini from Atalanta on loan, Tottenham Hotspur are now eyeing two more signings from the Serie A.
The appointment of Fabio Paratici is paying off for Tottenham Hotspur as the Italian has been pulling the strings in the transfer market to get Nuno Espirito Santo’s preferred signings. So far, Spurs have signed Sevilla’s promising talent Bryan Gil and Pierluigi Gollini from Atalanta on a season-long loan deal. They have also managed to reduce their wages by parting ways with Erik Lamela, Danny Rose, Toby Alderweireld and Joe Hart neither did they renew Carlos Vinicius’ or Gareth Bale’s loan.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham are not yet done and are now closing in on the signing of Cristian Romero from Atalanta. The north Londoners have reached an agreement with La Dea and have also agreed to personal terms with Romero. It is only a matter of days before the club officially announces the signing of the centre-back.
While the signing of the 23-year-old is a fantastic addition for Tottenham Hotspur. According to the Express, the club is keeping a close watch on Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic as a replacement to Harry Kane. The England international wants to leave this summer and has missed two training sessions in an attempt to force an exit amid interest from Manchester City.
Nuno Espirito Santo wants to play Dusan Vlahovic alongside Kane in his setup next season, however, if he does leave for the Sky Blues then Santo will use Vlahovic as a lone striker. The 21-year-old was one of the best strikers in Serie A last season, scoring 21 goals in Italy’s top-flight.
The Serbian is an excellent target man due to his physical stature and can waive off defenders in the box and is a threat from set-pieces or crosses due to his heading ability. His style of play and technical skill could make it an easier task for him to settle down in the Premier League.
However, Tottenham Hotspur could be taking a gamble by signing Dusan Vlahovic due to his lack of experience. There is a possibility that he could turn out to be a one-season wonder but Spurs seem quite confident in the player who also has a long list of suitors to sign him this summer. Inter Milan and Liverpool are two of the most prominent names that are keen on signing the Serbian international.
Another player that Tottenham have shown interest in is Bologna’s Takehiro Tomiyasu. The Japanese defender is considered to be signing to cover the centre-back and right-back position due to his versatility. Nuno Espirito Santo wants to use him as a centre-back alongside Cristian Romero next season but could also play him at the right-back position ahead of the likes of Serge Aurier and Matt Doherty.
