Tottenham Hotspur arrange a grand swap deal with Inter Milan to bolster their defence next season
French Midfielder, Tanguy Ndombele was the star signing of the summer for Tottenham Hotspur from Lyon in 2019. A lot was expected from the French International as he displayed his brilliant versatility in the midfield at Lyon. However, under the management of Jose Mourinho the player has struggled to find minutes of playtime as the two don’t get along so well.
If reports are to be believed, there are talks currently going on with Inter Milan for a potential player swap, Tanguy Ndombele for Milan Skriniar. The move would benefit both the parties and the players as Skriniar has suffered playing under Conte’s 3-5-2 system, and Ndombele hardly has been getting any playtime under Jose.
Antonio Conte’s objective when he took over Inter Milan was to get the Italian club back on the map as one of the most lethal teams in Italy and Europe. Conte has already racked up Real Madrid’s Achraf Hakimi whose pace will be a serious issue for most clubs next season as the former Real player will play as an attacking full-back in Conte’s conventional 3-5-2.
Jose Mourinho is also in the market for a quality centre-back as the Belgian Jan Vertonghen will be making his way out from the north London club at the end of the season. The Portuguese coach can find in Skriniar, the qualities he requires from a defender, experience, physicality, and builds. Meanwhile, Ndombele has a chance to revive his career at Inter Milan. He is a quality player, with high work rates and has a great balance with his attacking and defending capabilities.
With the Italian and the North London side, both going through revolutionary changes in their teams and management, it is exciting to see what potential transfers and deals might be carried out in this transfer window. For now, the futures of both the French international and the Slovak International remain undecided.
