The Gunners face a severe injury crisis in their backline as Shkodran Mustafi, Calum Chambers and Pablo Mari are sidelined for several more weeks after sustaining long term injuries. Former Chelsea defender David Luiz has reportedly felt severe discomfort in his neck and the Brazilian might just miss the game against Fulham.

With Luiz and Mustafi out, it is highly expected that Rob Holding will cover the role of David Luiz at the Craven Cottage this Saturday. The Gunners new signing, Gabriel Magalhaes will most likely not start against Fulham as Arteta might just go for the more experienced William Saliba. Magalhaes will certainly start later on, however, the player needs time to adjust to life in England and to the Premier League before showcasing his talent.

Kieran Tierney will most likely take the left-centre back position to complete the 3-4-3 formation that Arteta prefers to play. The Scottish international put a top performance in the UEFA Nations League against Israel that ended as a 1-1 draw, however, the 23-year-old will be hoping to put on the very same performance against Fulham as well to cement a place in the starting eleven.
