Real Madrid shortlist two potential replacements for Eduardo Camavinga from the Premier League to sign next summer
Real Madrid has been on the lookout for a replacement for Casemiro for the past two seasons. Los Blancos had their perfect replacement for the Brazilian midfielder in Marcos Llorente, however, Zinedine Zidane, in particular, was not highly impressed with the Spaniard. In the summer of 2019, Llorente completed his move to Atletico Madrid in search of game time, meanwhile, Real have failed to find a replacement since then.
However, last summer Los Blancos kept a close look at Eduardo Camavinga of Rennes in Ligue 1. The 17-year-old defensive midfielder has caught the eye of many due to his exceptional game sense despite being so young and his ability to win possession.
It has been rumoured that Real have already communicated their interest to the youngster and his agent. Camavinga is on a contract until the summer of 2022, however, after the interest shown by Los Blancos, the teenager has decided not to renew terms with Rennes.
But there is still one issue, Eduardo Camavinga’s stunning performance in the Ligue1 has also caught the eye of Paris Saint-Germain who rate the midfielder highly. Real are aware of the interest shown from PSG and have decided to shortlist a few other players in case the deal does not go through.
Reports state that Zinedine Zidane has asked for Wilfred Ndidi or Declan Rice of the Premier League instead. Ndidi of Leicester City is one of the Premier League’s best central defensive midfielder boasting a high rate of interceptions and tackles. The African midfielder is criminally underrated a move to Real Madrid might just give him the recognition he deserves.
Meanwhile, for Declan Rice, Chelsea has shown serious interest in signing the English midfielder this summer transfer market. If the deal does go through between both the London sides, then Real only have Ndidi as their alternative options. Brendan Rogers will certainly not let his star midfielder leave for cheap next summer which means that Los Blancos would have to spend a decent fee if they are to sign the Foxes midfielder.
