Real Madrid plans on selling Luka Jovic at the end of the season as the Serbian has failed to cement a place in the star-studded lineup.

Real Madrid plans to part ways with Luka Jovic at the end of the season as the Serbian international has failed to cement in the starting eleven and has not impressed Zinedine Zidane as expected. The Bundesliga man was signed with great expectations after the striker had a stellar season at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Jovic was a force to reckon with in the 2018/19 season after scoring 17 goals in the Bundesliga including a stellar five goals in a game making him the youngest player in the history of football to score five goals in a league match.

The Serbian striker is the real deal and Real Madrid has landed the perfect heir to replace Karim Benzema. The 22-year-old is quick on his feet despite his massive muscular built and is a double footed striker. Jovic is as clinical as it gets due to his attacking versatility, he is good in the air, can shoot with both his feet and is extremely quick on the counter.

However, after just securing 400 minutes in the Los Blancos’s title-winning league campaign, Jovic is merely wasting his talent as his goal-scoring feet will get rustier with time if he does not play often.

Napoli and AC Milan are the front runners for the former Benfica man’s signature this summer, however, AS Monaco’s head coach, Niko Kovac, knows how to play Jovic like no other. It was under Kovac that the Serbian unleashed his true potential in the 2018/19 season before the duo went their separate ways.

Kovac was appointed the manager of Bayern Munich only to be sacked later on and Luka completed his dream move to the Bernabeu only to be benched for the rest of the season. However, BILD reports that Kovac would love to reunite with his former pupil at AS Monaco.

A move to the Ligue 1 under Kovac might be the stepping stone the young Serbian requires to find his lethal goalscoring form once again. However, Real should not sell the player but send him on a season-long loan as Karim Benzema has shown signs of slowing down with age.

What do you make of the potential transfer to AS Monaco for Jovic?
