Real Madrid will be willing to offload Karim Benzema should they manage to land one of the world’s most terrific forwards next summer.

Real Madrid ace Karim Benzema is one of the indispensable members of the squad under Zinedine Zidane. The French forward is among the club’s all-time top scorers and his importance in the final-third cannot be understated. However, he is now 33 and does not have many years in his cylinder, at least at the highest footballing level.

Benzema’s departure will be as significant as that of Cristiano Ronaldo because the former Lyon superstar has taken up onus in front of goal after the Portuguese left. The 4-time Champions League winner however may be offloaded in the event that Kylian Mbappe signs for the Merengues next year, according to Don Balon.

Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid seems to have an air of inevitability as the World Cup winner will enter the final year of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the current campaign. In 2021, the Ligue 1 giants will have the final chance to demand a significant figure for the forward as he will be free to leave in the summer of 2022.

PSG have already been informed by the player’s entourage that he does not intend to extend his stay at the club. With that said, Florentino Perez already seems to be on a mission to land the 21-year-old as part of his galactic revolution and more often than not, the Whites’ chief does get his hands on a player he wishes to sign.

Signing Mbappe will have major financial effects on Real Madrid, who may need to cash-in up to 200 million euros to sanction a move for him. Moreover, the player is likely to become one of the world’s best paid players at the Santiago Bernabeu whilst certainly eclipsing the annual wage of 17 million euros earned by Sergio Ramos.

Karim Benzema, now 33, may well be on his way out so as to allow the Whites to fit Mbappe down the middle and keep hold of the young wingers, such as Marco Asensio, Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior. Not to mention, Eden Hazard will remain a key part of the team provided he lives up to the billing amid endless fitness issues since signing for the club in 2019.

Los Blancos’ beloved player in Benzema is the subject of Premier League interest, and Chelsea as well as Liverpool have kept tabs on him since a few years. The Blues can land him as a marquee signing beside an already present flamboyant attack, whereas for the Reds, Benzema will do what Roberto Firmino does, but on a much better level thanks to his experience.

Do you think Benzema will leave the club once Mbappe leaves or will Zidane force to keep him?
