Real Madrid prepare for negotiations with Bundesliga talent

Kai Havertz of Bayern Leverkusen has earned a name for himself after performing for the last two seasons on a consistent basis in the Bundesliga. The German midfielder has been tipped to be one of the finest talents in all of Germany and European football, some pundits have even considered him to be the next Mesut Ozil. Havertz is a wanted man this summer after Real Madrid, Chelsea and Liverpool have been heavily linked with the player.

James Rodriguez of Real will be making his way out this summer after falling out with Zinedine Zidane. The former AS Monaco superstar is linked with a switch to the Old Trafford that could possibly see James lineup alongside Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes next season.

Zidane and Florentino Perez consider Kai Havertz to be the perfect replacement for James Rodriguez. Like the Columbian, Havertz is a goal-scoring midfielder as he has scored 12 goals so far in the Bundesliga this season along with 6 assists. The German’s best season was the 2018/19 where he scored a stunning 17 goals in the league.

However, Frank Lampard’s Chelsea has also shown serious interest in the midfielder after racking up Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech. The Blues of London believe that Havertz’s skillset would prove to be pivotal while attacking since the 21-year-old is an excellent dribbler and can pass the ball equally well with both his feet while always having his eye on the goal.

Although Havertz is a fan favourite at the Stamford Bridge, the issue is the hefty price tag that Bayern Leverkusen demand despite the pandemic leaving most clubs with a limited transfer budget. The midfielder is valued at around 90 million pounds, a figure that both Real Madrid and Chelsea are ready to battle it out to sign the midfielder.

The Los Blancos have considered offering Leverkusen a swap deal offer according to the Express, however, no player’s name has yet been mentioned. The possible players that might be included in the deal could include James Rodriguez, Alvaro Odriozola, Brahim, Dani Ceballos, or Mariano.

Nonetheless Real seem to be serious to land Havertz this summer and Chelsea would have to devise a plan immediately to get their hands on the youngster before the Spaniard’s do.
