Zinedine Zidane has drawn up a bold list of potential targets that he would want at Real Madrid for the 2020/21 season.
After Real Madrid was tactically outclassed by Pep Guardiola in the return leg at the Etihad Stadium. Zinedine Zidane has realized that the current squad needs changes. The French manager has come to terms that next season will not be a success unless some changes are made over the summer.
As per the recent reports and rumours, it seems like the club will be selling James Rodriguez, Gareth Bale, and Mariano Diaz over the summer. James has been linked with a move to Manchester United and Atletico Madrid for a mere 25 million euros, meanwhile, with Bale, the issue lies in finding a club that would meet his hefty salary that earns each week at the Bernabeu.
For Mariano Diaz, there is little to no room for the Dominican to play and grow as a forward. The striker is third on the pecking order as Karim Benzema remains the first choice followed by the Serbian striker, Luka Jovic.
If the three players are to be sold this season, Zidane has drawn up a list of signings he would want at Real Madrid for the 2020/21 season, according to Diaro GOL. Starting in the defensive department, the Frenchman has considered the signing of Milan Skriniar and Kaldiou Koulibaly, however, it is highly unliked that the club would manage to secure their services this summer.
In the midfield, Paul Pogba once again emerges on the agenda as the former Juventus midfielder has been a favourite of Zinedine Zidane for a long time. However, signing Pogba from Manchester United would not come easy and the Red Devils would ask for a figure close to 100 million euros. The only way Paul Pogba could make his move to Madrid is if the Whites manage to offload Gareth Bale.
The last player on the list is Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur. The English national captain has made it clear that he wants to win trophies in his career that seems highly unlikely in the north London side. Real can offer the player what he wants, however, Benzema remains the undisputed striker at the club which could be the reason behind why Kane has not yet moved to the Spanish capital.
Having said that, Real Madrid has ambitions to achieve over the summer which seems to be a difficult task to achieve given the impact COVID-19 has imposed on the club. Florentino Perez and Zinedine Zidane would be hoping for a better season after winning the Spanish cup and the La Liga in the 2019/20 season.
