Real Madrid have added another world-class striker to their transfer targets, if the club fails to reach a deal for Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland.
Kylian Mbappe has been under the radar of Real Madrid since a long time. The Whites are one of the top candidates to sign the Paris Saint-Germain marksman if he does not extend his stay in France, which is due to expire in June 2022. Los Blancos have also added Erling Haaland to their wish-list for the summer transfer window as they aim to strengthen their forward line.
As reported by Francisco Jose Delgado in SER Deportivo, Real Madrid are also considering a third option, if the club fails to land either of the two youngsters in the summer. Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane has been the player most recently linked with a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Harry Kane has continued his fine form in front of goal this season, as he is the Premier League’s top goal-scorer alongside Mohamed Salah with 17 goals. More importantly, he has assisted another 13 goals and has formed a solid partnership with Son Heung-min in the final-third.
However, with the English striker turning 28 this year, he would surely be keen on adding silverware to his repertoire, something which Tottenham have craved but not enough to get their hands upon.
At Real Madrid, Harry Kane is considered the third option for the summer transfer window. The Merengues will negotiate a deal with Kane’s agent and brother, Charlie directly, in order to avoid the presence of other intermediaries who could make the deal more complex and expensive.
While it looks likely that Kane will leave London sooner or later in search of trophies, if Tottenham’s barren run continues, Real Madrid is one of the unlikeliest destinations for him. He performs similar duties as Karim Benzema and is not mobile enough to play on the flanks. Moreover, the club’s new model of signing younger players could see them keep Kane only as an option and not priority.
