Real Madrid prepare to spend a grand figure in the summer of 2021 to sign two talented French superstars from the Ligue 1

After being crowned La Liga champions, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez announced that the club would not be making any signings the summer transfer window due to the economic situations posed by the coronavirus pandemic. The Merengues have stayed true to their word and the only transfers that the club has been involved with were the departures of players to other clubs on loans or on permanent transfers.

This, however, does not mean that the club does not have fresh legs. Players like Martin Odegaard and Alvaro Odriozola have arrived back at the club after their loan moves to Real Sociedad and Bayern Munich respectively. Though a ‘no-transfer’ window might not be good news for a club of Real Madrid’s stature, one thing that Los Blancos have on their side is their squad depth.

Currently, the team has two or more world-class players on almost every position on the pitch, from the defense to the attack. Also, having extremely versatile players on the squad like Lucas Vasquez and Isco Alarcon, an argument can be made that the club does not need any other players.

Coupled with Zidane’s excellent squad rotation tactics, the La Liga champions have been unstoppable in the league since the resumption of football. However, the club does lack in its attacking power with the forwards not putting up good numbers apart from Karim Benzema.

Kylian Mbappe and Erling Braut Haaland have been identified as future Madrid players as there are rumours floating around that mainly the Frenchman is set to join the Spanish side next season with the funds saved from this year’s transfer window and the departures.

But according to recent reports, another player has been linked with the move to the Galacticos and he is not a forward. If there is one player in the Real Madrid squad who is truly irreplaceable and has no backups, its Casemiro. The Brazilian midfielder is perhaps the most important player of the squad as he is basically the backbone of the team.

Dictating the midfield and helping majorly in defense, the 28-year-old’s efforts are often unrecognized. However, the problem still remains at the lack of a backup for the former Sao Paulo man, and Zidane plans on fixing exactly that.

The player that the French manager has shortlisted is Eduardo Camavinga who plays for Stade Rennais. The youngster has proven himself to be a generational talent, and in turn, have attracted a large number of suitors from clubs all around Europe. Zizou thinks of the French international as a perfect replacement for Casemiro and has no doubts that he will be a great addition to the team.

On the monetary side of things, the deal is rumoured to be around the price of 55 million euros, a price tag that would not be tough to afford for one of the richest clubs in the world. The inclusion of the 17-year-old would be a great one as he is still seen as one of football’s greatest prospects currently, and at such young age, he has already established himself as a man of discipline which is of extreme importance in the Real Madrid locker room.

Though Zizou is yet to make offers or come to a decision, the youngster is already showing signs of being a promising player if given a chance in the iconic white jersey. But nothing is sure as of yet, and it will be interesting to see where Camavinga might end up next season.
