Real Madrid have reportedly informed Luka Jovic about his future at the club and have cleared out all the confusion ahead of a long season.
Luka Jovic had endured a tough spell at Real Madrid since his arrival from Eintracht Frankfurt last season. The Serbian international was not able to feature as a starter for the club and had spent a lot of time on the bench and did not live up to his price tag of 65 million euros.
The striker had a below par outing in La Liga last season as he managed 17 appearances and scored only two goals for the Spanish champions. Jovic had an outstanding season prior to his arrival in the summer of 2019 and scored 27 goals and provided five assists for Frankfurt in his breakthrough campaign.
His strong numbers at Frankfurt earned him a good reputation and had tempted Barcelona as well as Real Madrid to make a move for the lethal marksman. However, Karim Benzema being in exquisite form kept the 22-year-old out of the acquisition during the entirety of the 2019-20 season.
There were speculations about the striker leaving the club on a loan deal as various clubs are ready to secure the services of the young forward but recent developments suggest that the club will not be forcing the player to opt for a loan deal and will support him in his development at Madrid, AS claims.
The Former La Liga winners had a stagnant start to their campaign as they were forced into a goalless draw against Real Sociedad with Jovic not finding any minutes on the pitch. However, the second game had forced Zidane to slot in the Serbian alongside Benzema wherein he played over an hour.
The 22 year-old striker has understood the competitiveness which exists in the Madrid setup and will make sure he gives his best in the white shirt. For now, a loan deal for the player looks unlikely unless the player hands in a transfer request which also looks like an unlikely prospect.
