A sigh of relief for Real Madrid as the news from Frances states that their key target is willing to wait another year
Apart from being one of the greatest footballer’s ever to grace the field and a fantastic manager, Zinedine Zidane, also has a sharp eye to when it comes to scouting talents. The manager of Real Madrid has previously scouted talents such as Eden Hazard, Raphael Varane, Kylian Mbappe and the new entry on his long list is Eduardo Camavinga.
Camavinga has been on Zidane’s agenda for quite some time and so has the 17-year-old been dreaming of a move to the Santiago Bernabeu. Before the outbreak of COVID-19, it seemed like everything was pointing toward’s the French teenager signing for Los Blancos in the summer of 2020, however, the impact that COVID-19 has posed on the finances of Real has left them with no option but to withdraw all interests this summer.
Although Florentino Perez will not be making a move for Camavinga this season, AS reports that the Rennes midfielder has reportedly asked the sporting director of the club to turn down all offers as his heart is set on Real Madrid.
The 17-year-old will wait for another season to put on the infamous white jersey of Madrid. It is assumed that Los Blancos would have to pay a figure around 80 million euros if they were to sign him this season, however, since his contract expires in 2022, Real could negotiate next year to reduce his price further or else Rennes could possibly lose the superstar on a free transfer.
Zinedine Zidane would have to once again take on the 2020/21 season without a natural backup for Casemiro after the club sold Marcos Llorente to Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019. Real would have Federico Valverde as the second option to replace the Brazilian midfielder when needed.
Meanwhile, Florentino Perez still has his eye on Paris Saint-Germain’s prized possession, Kylian Mbappe. The forward’s contract will run out alongside Camavinga’s in the summer of 2022 and Real could possibly land both the French superstars.
Kylian Mbappe has been a long-time favourite at the president box in the Santiago Bernabeu as they believe that the Parsian based winger could replace his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo. The former Portuguese winger left Madrid in 2018 for Juventus and since then Real have kept a close tab on Mbappe.
