Real Madrid looks to find the ideal successor to an aging Sergio Ramos.
After being eliminated from the Champions League after losing to Manchester City, largely due to the individual mistakes of Raphael Varane, Real Madrid desire the signing of defensive reinforcements ahead of the new season.
Los Blancos were without their captain against the Premier League side, and the pair of Raphael Varane and Eder Militao was picked by coach Zinadine Zidane to save the day. While a solid pair, many believed that if the two center-backs were to fail, it would be due to the failures of Militao as Varane had already established himself as a reliable replacement for Ramos.
Surprisingly it was the French international who looked uncomfortable taking over Ramos’ role as the main center-back as his double mistakes led to the two Manchester City goals. Real Madrid, who initially thought Verane would be enough, are looking to begin the major task of finding the perfect replacement for 34-year-old Ramos.
