Zinedine Zidane of Real Madrid continues to insist on the signing of Manchester United’s superstar midfielder this summer
Real Madrid has been fairly active in the transfer window as they managed to raise 80 million pounds and ensured the departures of players such as James Rodriguez, Achraf Hakimi, Gareth Bale alongside many players. The transfer window deadline is just one week away but it seems like they are not done yet, as Los Blancos plans a deadline day transfer for a Premier League star, Paul Pogba.
In recent developments, Real Madrid is evaluating a move for the French midfielder who has featured more than 160 times for the Red Devils, scored 32 goals, and assisted 33 times in his two stints with the club. The French midfielder has also won the Europa League and FA Cup with Manchester United after he returned to the club from Juventus.
Zinedine Zidane considers the Frenchman as the top transfer target and looks to reinforce his aging midfield. On the other hand, this move is opposed by the club captain Sergio Ramos who believes that the arrival of the 27-year-old midfielder could disrupt the harmony in the dressing room due to his conflictive nature and egoistic approach.
Reports suggest that club president Florentino Perez is planning to launch a late bid for the former Juventus midfielder in order to seal the deal from Manchester United. Los Blancos value Pogba’s service’s at around 75 million euros and with the help of Frenchman’s agent Mino Riola, the Whites can feel confident about their approach.
This could be the last opportunity for the Red Devils to cash in on the World Cup winner as his contract is set to expire next summer. Real also faces stern competition from the French giants Paris Saint-Germain, who possess the same or even higher purchasing power when compared to the Madrid outfit.
The question is do the champions of Spain actually require the services of Paul Pogba? or would be just another wasteful galactico signing?
