Real Madrid require an explanation from Zidane as the club repents over the departure of their star player

Real Madrid did not bring reinforcements in the summer transfer window as the club had already stated that they won’t be making any signings for the upcoming season. The coronavirus pandemic has already affected the finances of many clubs and the Spanish champions have faced the brunt of it.

Los Blancos have been keener on selling some of their star players this summer as the club has been looking to cash in on some of their less used resources. Some of their elite names of the squad have been shown the exit door as we saw the likes of  James Rodriguez, Gareth Bale, and Sergio Reguilon heading to England for their new clubs.

Zidane’s side has also let a couple of fringe players leave on loan as players like Brahim Diaz and Borja Mayoral opted to pursue first-team football in Serie A. The Whites have been able to generate over 110 million euros from their sales proceeds in the recently concluded transfer window.

However, the Spanish supergiants have not been too pleased to see James leave in the summer as Everton managed to secure the services of the Colombian for free. The prospect of not keeping the former Monaco man in the first team operations became a crucial reason behind the player’s unfortunate exit from the Santiago Bernabeu

In the ongoing season, the attacking midfielder has been superb for Carlo Ancelotti‘s side as the 29-year-old has already scored three goals and provided thrice in his first five appearances in the Premier League. The former Porto man has already started to enjoy his new life at Goodison Park as the player has enjoyed receiving starts in almost all the matches.

According to various sources, it has been reported that the Madrid hierarchy expects an explanation for the mishandling of the Colombian from club manager Zinedine Zidane. The Frenchman has often been accused of leaving James on the bench without any valid reason which frustrated the midfielder to opt for an exit from the Valdebebas.

At present, Los Blancos have endured a strange start to their season as the present titleholders have secured only 10 points in their 5 matches as they drew against Real Sociedad and had recently lost their home game against  Cadiz. Zidane’s side will have to put in their best performances in the upcoming few weeks as the Spanish club is due to start their Champions League campaign this month followed by the El Clasico on 25th this month.
