Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is looking to make the most of the summer transfer window with hopes of another signing.
Real Madrid have an incredible squad to begin the defence of La Liga in the upcoming weeks. However, there still seem to be some areas where there is room for improvement. Casemiro’s position of defensive midfield is such an aspect, where he is the only player available to the coach in an otherwise well-equipped roster.
Don Balon has reported that Zinedine Zidane is looking to contact Chelsea over a possible massive signing. N’Golo Kante is the player being discussed and the Blues are happy to let him go during the transfer window to raise funds after several purchases. Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan has shown interest in the Frenchman too.
He is valued at 50 million euros and the Whites’ boss is interested in him. Kante’s price tag is very attractive for a player of his calibre and age. The 29-year-old is in the prime of his career and all signs point towards him being a success at the next club he goes to, as he has been with Leicester City as well as the French national side prior to Chelsea.
The Blues have been extremely busy in the transfer market, having acquired the services of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr. The latter duo from the French Ligue 1 comes for free but nonetheless, they remain serious additions to their squad.
Kai Havertz’s deal isn’t confirmed yet but is close to completion and an official announcement can be made in the coming days. The Germany international will cost the west Londoners roughly 100 million euros including add-ons and other bonuses and fees involved in the signing process.
Despite making these grand signings, the Blues haven’t yet reached the position where they will be needing funds or offload some players. However, Frank Lampard wouldn’t mind letting go of the players that don’t fit into his plans. Speaking of Kante’s two suitors, a switch to the San Siro seems more likely that the Santiago Bernabeu.
In Spain, the Merengues cannot guarantee him a regular place in the squad thanks to Casemiro being absolutely brilliant in recent years at defensive midfield. Moreover, the club’s main focus continues to be on younger players and as such, Eduardo Camavinga is their primary target for the role up for grab behind the current Brazilian star.
On the other hand, Antonio Conte adores Kante and will guarantee him a first-team spot. In all honesty, no midfielder from the current setup of the Serie A giants comes close to Kante in terms of quality. The Italian head coach has demanded a change in his squad from the board, so signing the France international could be a realistic approach in the desired direction of ending Juventus’ monopoly in Italy.
