Zinedine Zidane is looking for a midfield boost for the future at least and Real Madrid are about to get some business.
Real Madrid continue to sign some of the world’s best players, but their recent model has shifted towards landing promising youngsters who will constitute an important role in the years to come.
As per Don Balon, the Whites are interested in Liverpool’s starlet in Curtis Jones. The 19-year-old is set to be the next big thing in the middle of the pitch.
Liverpool have been producing some consistent and wonderful results off-late and that is largely because they’ve depended on their young talent to deliver the results. Trent-Alexander Arnold for example has become one of the best fullbacks in European football over the past couple of years.
Sadio Mane, when he joined Liverpool from Southampton, he was a player whose potential wasn’t being realized. At the Anfield, Mane evolved into one of the best wingers of the game and is a hot property in European football now.
The basic point is that Liverpool’s success is attributed to their process of producing some raw talent and some good scouting. Real Madrid are looking to take advantage of this fact.
With his preferred foot being the left one, Curtis Jones is a budding midfielder and could be looked at as the replacement for Toni Kroos or Luka Modric down the line.
At 30 and 35 years of age respectively, with all due respect to the Real Madrid stalwarts, they will be past their prime in a matter of the next few years. Modric is already approaching the twilight of his professional career and Real Madrid have come to terms with that.
Curtis Jones is a brilliant option and would fit in perfectly in Zidane’s set up. He has the potential to be one of the very best in the center of the pitch and could provide good through balls to Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo. He has got the speed and more importantly, he has got the talent to be a part of the Los Blancos. Having played a mere 90 minutes this season, Curtis already has two goals to his name.
