Liverpool won’t have an easy time in the next Premier League season as several of their rivals are expected to undergo major overhauling.

Liverpool’s long drought for the Premier League title is over which has given positive signs for the start of a new phase. On paper all the signs point towards an era of glory and dominance

The Premier League has not been particularly competitive as Manchester City were the only and most obvious challengers this season and the rest of the Big 6 clubs have a lot of work to do if they have any hopes of catching Liverpool and reducing the gap next season. MANCHESTER CITY

Manchester City have endured a difficult campaign this season as per their standards and even though they have won the carabao cup and are favourites for the FA cup, are likely to go through to the quarterfinals against Real Madrid but they currently sit 23 points behind champions Liverpool in the Premier League and have suffered shocking defeats to the likes of Norwich City and Wolves which has derailed their title defence this year.

City failed to replace Vincent Kompany at the start of the season and that mistake proved costly as they were lacking a leader at the back and were very susceptible to teams who played counter-attacking football.

Manchester City appears to be the best-placed team to challenge Liverpool for the title next season. However, they could be seriously undermined if the UEFA’s two-year Champions League ban is upheld by the CAS which will make it difficult for them to acquire their major targets in the transfer market.

Pep Guardiola’s side has had defensive frailties this season, however, signing a centre-back as a replacement for Kompany and a replacement for Sane should put them back as favourites along with Liverpool.

Several reports claim,  Manchester City are nearing a £72.5million deal for Kalidou Koulibaly, who reportedly wants to sign for Manchester City to work with Pep Guardiola. The Sun have also reported a potential plot for Jack Grealish as a replacement for the departing Leroy Sane.

If the rumours are believed to be true, then Manchester City will surely be a force to reckon with next season and Liverpool will surely be looking over their shoulders as the reported signings will ensure Pep’s side are the complete team once again as they look to compete once again on all fronts next season.
