Predicted XI for Real Madrid as the champions of Spain are set to travel to face Real Betis at the Benito Villamarin Stadium
Real Betis are set to host the 2019/20 La Liga champions at the Benito Villamarin Stadium. Manuel Pellegrini’s Betis has the upper hand going into the game as his side are undefeated against Real Madrid in the last three league fixtures they have played against each other.
Zinedine Zidane’s side started off their league campaign on a bitter note after the champions secured just one point against Real Sociedad as the opening fixture ended in a goalless draw. Los Blancos will be hoping to bounce back and secure all the three points against Betis.
In terms of squad strength from both sides, Real Betis currently have three injuries to their squad and Real Madrid have lost out on Mariano Diaz and Eder Militao. However, Zidane will be delighted after Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio have been declared match fit by the club doctor’s and the pair were spotted training regularly with the first team.
Here is the predicted lineup that Real Madrid might field in the 4-3-3 formation
In goal would be Thibaut Courtois and the defensive line-ahead of him would be Ferland Mendy, Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, and Dani Carvajal. This defensive line up has proven to be Zidane’s magical formula last season as Real finished the league with an astonishing defensive record.
In the Real Sociedad away fixture, the French manager decided to hand over Martin Odegaard his first-ever start for the team since his debut in the 2014/15 season. The former Real Sociedad midfielder had a few moments of brilliance, however, it may take a while for the Norwegian magician to settle into Zidane’s tactics. The midfield will most likely compromise of Casemiro, Toni Kroos, and Luka Modric. The Brazilian defensive midfielder will be handed the task to neutralize Nabil Fekir who will most likely cause trouble in the middle of the park during attacking transitions.
The front three would most likely see Eden Hazard on the left-wing, Karim Benzema in the centre and Marco Asensio on the right-wing. Hazard and Asensio will be hoping to kick start their campaigns on a bright note after the pair have recently recovered to full fitness.
The former Chelsea winger will have to answer his harsh critics after being bashed for the poor display last season. Meanwhile, it is highly unlikely that Rodrygo will be given a start ahead of Asensio on the right-wing after his poor display against Real Sociedad.
Federico Valverde, Martin Odegaard, and Vinicius Junior are three substitutes that Zinedine Zidane might use in case there are no injuries.
