Tottenham Hotspur are back in action in the Premier League after their previous fixture against Fulham was postponed due to COVID-19 guidelines and regulations.
Tottenham Hotspur were set to face Fulham to play their last fixture of 2020 in the Premier League, however, the local derby between the two clubs was postponed due to COVID-19 regulations as the number of new cases continues to surge in England. Nonetheless, Spurs are back in action as they prepare to take on Leeds United for their first fixture of 2021.
Tottenham are yet to register a win after dropping points in their last four fixtures in the Premier League. Facing Marcelo Bielsa is always a complicated task and Jose Mourinho and his side will be tested against Leeds United. Going into the game, Spurs will be without Gareth Bale who picked up a minor injury against Stoke City in the EFL Cup victory. Apart from Bale, Jose Mourinho will also be without Lucas Moura, Vinicius, and Giovani Lo Celso as the trio are out injured.
Hugo Lloris will start in goal for the Lilywhites and the defensive backline will consist of Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier as the two center-backs along with Matt Doherty and Sergio Reguilon as the two full-backs. Mourinho might decide to play Doherty over Aurier since the former Wolves defender is better at attacking and progressing the ball forward than the African defender.
Moussa Sissoko and Pierre-Emile Hojberg will play as the double pivot in the midfield to provide cover and support for the defence. Tanguy Ndombele will play up ahead as the attacking midfielder and the Frenchman seems to be in good form after his goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Heung-Min Son, Harry Kane, and Steven Bergwijn will form the attacking front three for Tottenham Hotspur and will attempt to cause chaos for Bielsa’s backline.
