Tottenham Hotspur are on the back of two horrible performances in the Premier League and are now set to face Everton at Goodison Park.
It’s been a rough few weeks for Tottenham Hotspur after they were knocked out against Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Europa League. Since then, it has only gone downhill for Jose Mourinho as Spurs have now gone two games without a win in the Premier League. A disappointing draw against Newcastle United followed by a loss against Manchester United on home soil.
Spurs are now placed seventh on the league and are up against Everton who are placed eight but have a game in hand advantage. The Toffees are just a point below Tottenham on the league table. With that being said, there is no other option but to win tonight for Tottenham Hotspur if they are to finish in the top four at the end of the season.
Hugo Lloris will start in goal for the visitors against Everton. In the defence, Sergio Reguilon and Serge Aurier will play as the two full-backs as both the other options- Ben Davies and Matt Doherty are out injured. Eric Dier could be replaced by Toby Alderweireld as the former put in a poor performance. The 32-year-old Belgian will partner Joe Rodon in the defence to form the centre-back partnership.
In the midfield, Tanguy Ndombele and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will form the centre midfield partnership. Ndombele had a decent outing against Manchester United and is expected to step his performance up against Everton tonight. While Ndombele and Hojbjerg hold the midfield, Giovani Lo Celso will play as the attacking midfielder to spearhead the attacking front three of Son Heung-min, Harry Kane and Lucas Moura.
Son was on target against United after going on an eight-game goalless streak. The South Korean forward will look to pair up against his counterpart Harry Kane to trouble the back four of Everton. Kane and Son have formed a formidable lethal partnership, however, it has been quite a while since the two have hit top gear together in the Premier League.
