Real Madrid return to home turf after a series of away clashes as they take on Real Valladolid at the Alfredo di Stefano Stadium.
Real Madrid host Real Valladolid at the Estadio Alfredo di Stefano in the La Liga fixture on Wednesday evening. Los Blancos return to their home patch after a series of away outings where they picked up four out of six possible points in two of the most difficult matchups in the Spanish top-flight, away from home.
Zinedine Zidane’s side now has a relatively easier run of fixtures with Levante and Cadiz on the horizon after this one, and then the return of the Champions League, followed by the all-important El Clasico. Given the occasions, he would now be hoping for the squad to regain optimum shape and will give a chance to several other players.
Thibaut Courtois will be in goal yet again and will not be rested. Sergio Ramos will partner Raphael Varane in an unchanged centre of defence, while Dani Carvajal will also keep his place. After being uninvolved in the last two league matches from the start, Marcelo could take over from Ferland Mendy at left-back.
Casemiro was very lazy against Real Betis but his importance continues to be paramount for the Merengues. The Brazilian will keep his place in the starting eleven, as will Federico Valverde. Isco does have a chance of starting over his Uruguayan counterpart, but chances are less. Luka Modric will get the nod given Toni Kroos’ injury.
Eden Hazard has had another last-minute muscle injury but that only seems like a move that is meant to keep him from travelling with the Belgian national side. Nonetheless, he will play no part against Valladolid in all likelihood, meaning there could be a start for Vinicius Junior on the left and possibly Marco Asensio on the right. Karim Benzema will lead the line again.
