Real Madrid are back on home turf as they are set to face Huesca on a Saturday afternoon for their league fixture. Zinedine Zidane‘s men are back from Germany after their 2-2 draw against Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League group stage match. Los Blancos were trailing 2-0 after 75 mins but had managed to score twice in the space of 6 mins as they avoided defeat against the Bundesliga side.
The Spanish champions face a relatively weak task at hand as their opponents have been below average in all their outings this season. In the pre-match conference, Zidane, however, stressed upon the competitiveness of the league as he said that there are no easy leagues and he totally respects the sky-high standards of La Liga. Fortunately though, he has lesser pressure this time out though having won El Clasico.
Los Blancos will although be aware of their past defeat against minnows Cadiz CF and looking to learn from their mistakes in that game. The club is expected to field a strong team against Huesca and will be looking to win all three points this weekend.
The starting lineup will see Thibaut Courtois start in goal as their usual first-choice keeper and their back four will consist of the preferred central defence duo of Sergio Ramos and Rafael Varane. Lucas Vazquez would once again operate at right-back in the midst of injuries to Alvaro Odriozola, Dani Carvajal and Nacho, whereas Ferland Mendy will hold his place at left-back.
Their midfield will see Casemiro playing his natural role as the defensive mid with Luka Modric starting on the left with Federico Valverde again getting the nod on the right-hand side of the pitch. The Croatian star has had excellent impact in the last two games despite missing out on a starting spot but may be handed a start this time around at the expense of Toni Kroos, who has played regularly.
With Eden Hazard coming back from injury against Monchengladbach, the Belgian will hope to receive his first start of the season. However, Zidane may not rush the former Chelsea superstar into heavy workload and instead is expected to slot Vinicius Jr on the left wing with Rodrygo Goes on the right flank .Karim Benzema will feature as the lone striker in the attack.
