Predicted Real Madrid eleven for the clash versus Villarreal

Real Madrid bring the curtains down on their season with a clash against Villarreal, with the La Liga title still undecided.

Real Madrid contest their final match of the season as they face Villarreal in La Liga on Saturday evening. Los Blancos continue to fight for the title, but they will require a win as well as a favour from Real Valladolid, who must stop Atletico Madrid from winning.

Eden Hazard is ruled out for the clash, possibly as he is being rested for the Euros, but Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos are back and in contention to start. Dani Carvajal, Ferland Mendy and Lucas Vazquez remain out via injuries, whereas Toni Kroos is fighting the coronavirus and consequently is ruled out of the match as well.

Thibaut Courtois will keep his place in goal. He would have played all 38 games in La Liga this season by the end of day’s business in what has perhaps been his best individual season. Eder Militao and Nacho Fernandez may both drop out of the team, making way for Varane and Ramos in the heart of defence. The duo may play its last match in white.

Although Marcelo is likely to be another Real Madrid player living his final days, Miguel Gutierrez will keep his place at left-back with a lot at stake. The youngster has been very good in recent matches and could be promoted to the first team next season, officially. Alvaro Odriozola will keep his place as the right-back, thanks to a few convincing displays.

Casemiro and Luka Modric were at risk of suspension against Athletic Bilbao, but they will return to the eleven against Villarreal after successfully walking past their tightrope. It has been a very long season for the two midfielders, who have featured in most matches. Federico Valverde will complete a three-man trident.

Vinicius Junior will be awarded with another start on the left flank of attack as he looks to cap off a fine personal season on a good note. Rodrygo, whose pace will be crucial against a high line held by the visiting side, will play on the right wing. Karim Benzema will lead the attack, hoping to touch the 30-goal mark for a second time in three seasons.
