Paris Saint-Germain are set to host Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes following their 2-3 victory at the Allianz Arena in the UCL.
The second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final is set as Paris Saint-Germain host Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes after securing an important away victory at the Allianz Arena. At the moment, the hosts not only have a one-goal advantage on the aggregate scoreline but also have three away goals to their favour.
With that being said, Mauricio Pochettino will look to play it safe against the reigning champions by attempting to score an early goal before sitting deep and defending. Keeping that in mind, Keylor Navas will be the obvious starter for PSG in goal. The Costa Rica international has been nothing short of sensational for Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League this season after putting on match-winning performances against Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
However, with Marquinhos picking up an injury in the first half at Allianz Arena, Pochettino will have to find a suitable alternative to fill in the Brazilian’s role in the defence. FC Porto midfielder, Danilo Pereira, who is on loan at the Paris based club could be slotted into the defence alongside Presnel Kimpembe as the two centre-backs. Abdou Diallo and Colin Dagba are expected to play as the full-backs to complete the four-man defence.
In the midfield, Idrissa Gana Gueye and Leandro Paredes are expected to play as the two holding midfielders to support PSG’s unstable defence. Ahead of the two deep-lying midfielders will be three attacking midfielders in the likes of Julian Draxler, Neymar Jr and Angel Di Maria.
Draxler will operate from the left-wing and Di Maria from the right. Neymar will play through the centre just behind Kylian Mbappe to support the Frenchman on attacking transitions. The Brazilian was the standout performer for PSG against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena and his chemistry with Mbappe tormented the Bayern defence. The same will be expected tonight at the Parc des Princes.
