Manchester United can end the year on a streak of nine Premier League games without defeat when they face Wolves on Tuesday evening.
Manchester United host Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Old Trafford in their final outing of the 2020 calendar year. The Red Devils can go to second place, within two points of defending champions Liverpool in the event that they defeat the visiting side.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be able to call upon most of his players, but Victor Lindelof remains doubtful as he is still nursing a back injury. Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones also remain unfit, but there was anyway little chance that they would have featured.
David de Gea will keep his place in goal, looking to keep his first clean sheet in two Premier League matches, in which he dished out a combined four goals. The Spaniard will be provided cushion by Eric Bailly and Harry Maguire- both of whom have not featured alongside each other as often.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka sat out the draw versus Leicester City last weekend but will be back in the starting eleven this time around. Luke Shaw, who has played the majority of Manchester United games in recent weeks could be rested in favour of Alex Telles.
Paul Pogba, whose future continues to be a talking point would most likely be the fill-in for Fred, whereas Scott McTominay may also be handed a well-deserved rest with Nemanja Matic stepping in at the double pivot in midfield.
Solskjaer’s three-man attacking midfield will possibly see Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford occupy the left and right flanks respectively, while Bruno Fernandes will play as the attacking midfielder. The Portuguese midfielder made his debut at Old Trafford against Wolves earlier this year.
Edinson Cavani, who has been in a good run of form will lead the line, taking duties over from Anthony Martial who has just one league goal this season.
