Predicted Manchester City line-up for the clash against Chelsea

Manchester City will host Chelsea in a Premier League fixture on Sunday, as the Sky Blues hope to secure the league title.

Manchester City have an opportunity to claim the Premier League title on Saturday, as a victory over Chelsea could seal the title for Pep Guardiola‘s men. The Sky Blues qualified for the finals of the UEFA Champions League after they defeated Paris Saint-Germain by a score-line of 3-1, on aggregate and are set to face Thomas Tuchel’s side in the final.

The Sky Blues were defeated by Chelsea in the FA Cup semifinals last month, by a narrow margin of 1-0. The league leaders will hope to avenge their loss when they host the Blues in a crunch Premier League fixture on Saturday. Pep Guardiola is expected to make a few changes to his starting lineup for the clash against Chelsea.

Ederson will continue to start between the sticks for Manchester City. Aymeric Laporte will replace John Stones in the starting lineup and will partner Ruben Dias at the centre-back position. Joao Cancelo will operate from the right-back position, whereas, Benjamin Mendy will start as the left-back. The Frenchman performed admirably against Crystal Palace last week, where he helped his side keep another clean sheet.

Rodri was on the bench against PSG but is expected to start ahead of Fernandinho on Saturday. The Spaniard will operate as the centre-defensive midfielder and will safeguard City’s defence. Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne will start in the midfield for the Sky Blues. The latter will adopt a more attacking role, whereas, the German will play a deeper role against Chelsea.

Riyad Mahrez scored a brace against Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg at the Etihad Stadium and is a certain starter on Saturday. The Algerian will start as the right-winger against Chelsea and will look to continue his fine form in front of goal.

Raheem Sterling will start on the left-wing for the hosts, as he looks to end his goal-scoring drought. Sergio Aguero opened the scoring for his side last week against Crystal Palace and is expected to keep his place in the starting lineup.
