Predicted Manchester City eleven for visit to Chelsea

Manchester City are set to travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea in the Premier League. Can the Sky Blues clinch three points?

Manchester City are set to face Chelsea in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge this evening. Pep Guardiola will have to play his cards intelligently as the Sky Blues travel to the Old Trafford next to face Manchester United in the EFL Cup semi-final. It is to be seen what rotations and adjustments the Catalan coach makes to keep his player’s feet fresh for the derby.

The travelers are currently placed eight on the Premier League table and share the same points as Chelsea does (26 points). However, the Sky Blues have played 2 games less and a win tonight could see them breeze past the London side to extend their gap over them. Although it will not be a cakewalk for Guardiola since Ederson, Kyle Walker, Gabriel Jesus, and Eric Garcia are all injured.

Chelsea will also be without a few key players like Hakim Ziyech and Recce James are out injured. Frank Lampard‘s men have not been at their best form as they have dropped points in their last two Premier League fixtures and will be hoping to turn it around today. A loss against Arsenal followed by a draw against Aston Villa as left the Blues demoralized.

Since Ederson is not available for the clash against Chelsea, Zack Steffen is expected to start in goal. With Kyle Walker out, Nathan Ake will be deployed on the left-flank along with Joao Cancelo on the right to form the full-back pair. John Stones and Ruben Dias are expected to form the centre-back partnership as the Englishman and the Portuguese have formed an impenetrable wall this season.

Ikay Gundogan and Rodri will play as the defensive double-pivot along with former Chelsea midfielder, Kevin de Bruyne, as the central attacking midfielder. Bernardo Silva and Riyadh Mahrez have been tipped by several sources to be running down the channels from the flanks and to support Sergio Aguero who will be the lone striker.
