Predicted Liverpool line-up for the trip to Elland Road against Leeds United

Liverpool travel to Elland Road to take on a in-form Leeds United side in the Premier League following their UCL exit in the quarter-final.

Liverpool are set to travel to Elland Road to play Leeds United in the Premier League. The Reds will be playing their first fixture since their disappointing exit against Real Madrid at Anfield on an aggregate scoreline 3-1.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently position sixth on the table with 52 points and a win tonight could see them move on to fifth place ahead of Chelsea, provided the Blues lose against Brighton in the upcoming Premier League fixture.

However, 2019/20 Premier League champions will have to be wary of Leeds United’s recent form. Marcelo Bielsa’s side are on the back of three consecutive wins and even managed to secure a late winner against Manchester City despite being down to 10 men for the entire second half.

The injury list for Liverpool still remains to be a cause for concern as Curtis Jones, Divock Origi, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Jordan Henderson and Virgil van Dijk. Meanwhile, for the former Championship winners, captain Liam Cooper will be unavailable for selection after his reckless tackle on Gabriel Jesus that saw him earn a red card.

Alisson Becker will start in goal for the Reds. The Brazilian has not been at his best for the past few fixtures and is expected to be troubled against Leeds tonight. The back-four will see Andrew Robertson, Nathaniel Philipps, Ozan Kabak and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

In the midfield, Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara are expected to form the defensive double pivot. Gini Wijnaldum will play higher up and contribute effectively on both ends of the field.

With the defence and midfield all set-up, Klopp will bestow his faith in the attacking trio of Diogo Jota on the left-wing, Roberto Firmino through the centre and Mohamed Salah on the right-wing. Sadio Mane could be on the bench tonight as the former Southampton winger has been having a nightmare of a season so far.
