Chelsea are looking to turn things around in the Premier League when they take on Burnley at the back of a successful Champions League win.
Chelsea are back in the Premier League as the west Londoners face Burnley away from home. The Blues put up a bright display in the Champions League game against Krasnodar and put four past the Russian side with goals coming from Callum Hudson-Odoi, Timo Werner, Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech. Frank Lampard‘s side is currently sitting 10th in the league table after their recent draws against Manchester United and Southampton.
Chelsea will look to field a strong team against the Clarets as any further hiccups this season are likely to affect the team’s chances of finishing in the top four, let alone the prospect of winning the title. The club holds a good record against Burnley but at the same time, they will be aware of the threat imposed by this defensively solid team.
The starting lineup is expected to see Edouard Mendy start in goal for his fourth consecutive time this season. The back four will be hoping to see the central defence duo of Thiago Silva and Kurt Zouma with Ben Chilwell operating at his preferred left-back position and Cesar Azpilicueta filling in at right-back.
n the centre of the park, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante are expected to occupy their central midfield roles with the Frenchman assuming a more defensive role in the 4-2-3-1 formation. Frank Lampard would look to slot in Christian Pulisic as the right attacking midfielder and place Mason Mount on the left. Kai Havertz will once again assume the central attacking midfield role with Timo Werner operating as the lone striker in this starting lineup.
