Predicted line up for Manchester United as they prepare to take on Brighton at the American Express Community Stadium
Manchester United have started their 2020/21 Premier League campaign on a sour note. The Red Devils were thrashed by Crystal Palace at home in the opening fixture. Andrew Townsend’s goal and Wilfred Zaha’s brace tore Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side apart and Donny van de Beek’s debut goal was only a mere consolation for the club.
United are now set to face Brighton & Hove Albion at the American Express Community Stadium. Going into the game, the Red Devils have the upper hand on the head to head basis, as the club has won its last three fixtures against Brighton. However, Brighton has been lethal upfront off the late, as the side has scored nine goals in their last three fixtures.
In terms of squad strength, Graham Potter’s side will be missing out on Christian Walton, Florin Andone, and Jose Izquierdo to injuries while Yves Bissouma has been ruled out from the fixture due to a red card. For Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskajer will miss out on Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones due to injuries.
Here is the predicted line-up for the Red Devils. Formation- 4-2-3-1
David De Gea will most likely start in goal ahead of Dean Henderson. The defensive back four will consist of Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Solskjaer will be hoping that his defence does not fall apart given Brighton’s recent lethal form upfront. Lindelof has been out of form lately and this fixture would certainly have all eyes on the Sweden international. The manager even stated that the loss against Crystal Palace could be because of Lindelof.
The midfield will consist of a double pivot of Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba. The former Juventus midfielder will most likely have the freedom to move upfront while Matic provides the defensive cover for the backline. Bruno Fernandes will play as the central attacking midfielder with Marcus Rashford on the left-wing and Mason Greenwood on the right-wing.
Anthony Martial will be the sole striker and the former Ligue 1 man will be hoping to score his first goal and finish the season once again as the top scorer of the club.
