Paul Pobga has stated that a move to Real Madrid in the near future would be a dream come true for the 27-year-old French midfielder
Paul Pogba had arrived at Manchester United after a few fantastic seasons with Serie-A champions Juventus. The France international caught eyes of clubs all around Europe and Manchester United came across as the strongest contenders to sign the prolific midfielders and offered a deal to the Turin side that they could not refuse. The Red Devils gave up a staggering 105 million euros as several top clubs including Real Madrid wanted him. The costliest transfer ever at that point in time, for Pogba and Juve happily complied.
Since his arrival, however, the 27-year-old has had several dips in form and has been inconsistent with his performances. Not to mention, injuries have also limited the 6’3 midfielder’s game time. But then, the Frenchman redeemed himself, showing signs of his old form at the 2018 World Cup which concluded with France lifting the trophy. Along the course of the tournament, Pogba was one of the key players for Les Blues and suddenly a lot more clubs were interested to sign the former Juventus man again.
One of the clubs was La Liga giants, Real Madrid. Most of the players that play football have the dream of playing for Los Blancos and wearing the iconic white jersey, as they are without doubt one of the biggest and most famed clubs in Europe. The Merengues, who make superstar signings every year were heavily interested in the Frenchman, especially the club’s coach Zinedine Zidane.
Zizou’s side would benefit greatly from the addition of Pogba to their midfield as it would then mean that they would have a more physical presence in the middle of the park alongside Casemiro, and might even afford to rest the Brazilian as he has been an irreplaceable part of the squad.
Recently, with a win 7-1 win for France over Ukraine, the Manchester United star when confronted with these rumours said in the post-match interview that it would be he his dream come true to play for Real Madrid but also went on to say that he currently wishes to focus only on his current game at United and help improve the results with the Premier League side.
