Tiago Pinto, General Director of AS Roma, is reportedly eyeing a move fo a Paris Saint-Germain superstart to replace Edin Dzeko.
Tiago Pinto, who took over as the General Director at Roma just a few months ago, is looking forward to strengthening the side in the summer window. Pinto wants to sign a world-class goalkeeper and a recognized striker in the summer.
Edin Dzeko has not had his best season for Roma so far. The Bosnian striker has managed to score just seven goals in his 20 league outings this season. The Giallorossi will look forward to getting rid of Dzeko in the summer, who draws a monstrous salary at the club. The departure of the striker, who draws a salary of 7.5 million euros may give Roma enough breathing space to sign his replacement.
According to Corriere Dello Sport.it, Roma are considering the option of landing Mauro Icardi at the club in the summer. Parris Saint-Germain are willing to offer Icardi in the summer because of financial reasons, and Roma can also secure his services on a one-year loan period, with an option to extend his stay in Italy. However, the transfer is not straight-forward as Icardi draws a huge salary at PSG, which Roma might not be able to match.
Roma are still evaluating the potential transfer of Icardi who is still relatively young and can be the club’s talisman for years to come. The 28 year old Argentine striker is not the first-choice starter at Paris Saint-Germain and has made only 15 league appearances for the club so far.
He has scored five goals and assisted another four in the league and would be desperate to get some more playing time under his belt. As things stand, Icardi’s move to Roma looks highly likely in the summer, but it could be a loan deal, to begin with.
