Paris Saint-Germain have approached Rennes over the transfer of Eduardo Camavinga who is also on the radar of Real Madrid.
Rennes sensational talent Eduardo Camavinga has been a subject of interest at Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain for the past year. His decision making, ability on the ball, maturity and defensive prowess at the tender age of 18 has made him a popular target amongst the top tier clubs in Europe.
Camavinga’s contract with Rennes runs out in 2022 and the player has shown no interest in extending his stay beyond the expiration date. The player’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, hinted that his client could leave this summer after receiving offers from several top clubs including Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
With that being said, the French side will look to sell the highly-rated midfielder this summer and PSG have taken the first step ahead of other suitors in securing the services of the Frenchman.
Todo Fichajes claims that Les Parisiens have offered 60 million euros for the young prodigy. Real Madrid certainly cannot match or outbid Paris Saint-Germain’s offer as the Spanish club has completely diverted its attention towards signing only Kylian Mbappe.
With that being said, Mauricio Pochettino’s side looks like a clear winner in this transfer race. The 18-year-old’s acquisition will be a major asset for PSG for the future given the potential the young midfielder possess. Eduardo Camavinga would not be a certain starter immediately in Pochettino’s set up but with time he could break into the starting eleven and form a partnership with Marco Verratti in the engine room.
However, Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with Juventus’ Arthur Melo. The former Barcelona midfielder has struggled in Turin and has been excluded from Massimiliano Allegri’s plans for the 2021-22 season. The 24-year-old would be a fantastic addition to the midfield at Parc des Princes, however, signing both Arthur and Camavinga who share the same position on the field does not seem to be a likely prospect.
Arthur Melo is valued at 40 million euros and is a far more affordable transfer target with a few more years of experience at the highest level when compared to the 18-year-old. PSG have a big decision to make ahead of the summer transfer window between Juve’s Arthur Melo or Rennes Eduardo Camavinga. Whom would you want to see at Paris Saint-Germain next season?
