Paris Saint-Germain plot a shocking move for Atletico Madrid’s superstar striker this summer transfer market, according to AS

Atletico Madrid has not been able to make significant additions in the ongoing transfer window. Their only marquee signing has been Luis Suarez from Barcelona which has come as a surprise to so many. The former Liverpool forward left Camp Nou for was bagged by the Rojiblancos on a free transfer. Suarez went on to score a brace in his debut for Atleti and also provided an assist for former Real Madrid midfielder, Marcos Llorente.

The arrival of the Uruguyuan is definitely not a positive sign for Diego Costa. The Spanish international has not been at his best during his second stint at the Wanda Metropolitano. Last season, the Atleti striker managed to make 23 appearances in La Liga and had scored only five times for the club. The Spaniard has not been very effective in front of the goal and has not been a starter for Diego Simeone’s side.

Presently, Costa is uncertain about his future at Atletico and is considering an exit from the Spanish club. Paris Saint-Germain has been touted as the possible destination for the former Chelsea striker, according to AS. The French Champions had already parted ways with Edinson Cavani back in July. Thomas Tuchel is looking to add a replacement for the departed Uruguyuan. The arrival of the 31-year-old striker will definitely be a boost at the Parc des Princes as the club will not only possess a like for like replacement for Cavani but also have the option of owning one of the most lethal forwards in European Football.

On the other hand, Atletico might consider bringing the former PSG striker to the Wanda Metropolitano as a cover for Costa. Simeone will certainly relish the presence of having the Uruguyuan duo of Suarez and Cavani in his present setup.
Both clubs will look to bolster their attacking options for the upcoming season and will hope to iron out their flaws which have been present in their respective setups.

Paris Saint-Germain will be hoping that their star-studded squad has all the required ingredients to secure the Champions League this season. The addition of Costa might as well be the last missing piece of the puzzle to achieve European glory.
