Paris Saint-Germain have set a price tag for Kylian Mbappe and are not willing to settle for any fee beneath their quoted value.
Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain has arguably become the most sought after player in world football as his present-day achievements have been truly phenomenal. At 19, he lifted the FIFA World Cup with France and had also become the second youngest goalscorer in the final.
The Frenchman is currently 22-years-old and is still light years ahead of his prime. The forward did show a glimpse of his true potential recently as he singlehandedly destroyed Barcelona with a treble of goals at the Camp Nou. His stunning display against the Blaugrana has helped his side in taking one step forward towards the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The Parisiens have not shied away from admiring their superstar and have openly admitted that they intend to keep the forward for a long haul. PSG are optimistic of their chances of keeping the youngster beyond his present agreement and planning to tie down their no.7 to a new contract.
With Neymar extending his contract, Mauricio Pochettino‘s side are ready to open talks with Mbappe over a new deal. The Frenchman has although received strong interest from the top sides in Europe. The likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly vying to sign the forward this summer.
However, if the former AS Monaco forward wants to leave this summer then France Football claims that the Parisiens will only listen to offers worth 200 million euros and more. The 2019/20 Ligue 1 Champions are not ready to hear offers below their quoted price tag.
The report will come down as a big blow for potential suitors. Liverpool are expected to drop out of the race as the Reds do not have the financial muscle to pull off this proposed deal. On the other hand, Manchester City and Real Madrid may consider themselves in contention for the signature of the Frenchman as both clubs have the resources for such a transfer.
While PSG themselves have coughed up a transfer fee north of 222 million euros in the past for Neymar but then again we are yet to see another club pulling off such a feat. It will be interesting to see whether the 22-year-old forward opts to sign a new contract at the Parc des Princes after this season. Failure to sign an extension with the club will see the youngster become a free agent in the summer of 2022 which in return will likely invite more competitors for this high-profile transfer race.
Los Blancos have been long-time admirers of the Frenchman and hence are expected to make a move soon in the near future. Zinedine Zidane will cherish working with his countryman and at the same time will hope to rejuvenate his current attack with the presence of the no.7.
