Paris Saint-Germain faces stiff competition from Manchester United for the 27-year-old Brazilian left-back
As the summer transfer window moves towards closure, Manchester United look forward to finalizing a deal with FC Porto’s left-back Alex Telles. The Brazilian full-back appeared 49 times last season, scoring 13 goals and assisted 12 times in all competitions for Porto which is quite impressive given the fact that he is a defender.
It has been a difficult transfer window for the English side as they have failed to materialize any of their top targets this summer except Donny van de Beek. Manchester United was in the contention to sign the 23-year-old Spaniard Sergio Reguilón, but after a disagreement in regards to the buy-back clause and transfer fee set by Real Madrid, the Red Devils lost their target to Tottenham Hotspur who have reportedly agreed on every clause set by the Spanish side.
Reports suggest, Manchester United are plotting a move for the Brazilian left-back and have agreed on a 5 year deal with the Red Devils but the only thing left to be agreed upon is the transfer fee by both the clubs. Alex Telles is currently valued at 25 million euros and a player of his calibre at that rate is a certain steal for United.
Paris Saint Germain are also closely monitoring the situation and also remain interested in the left-back after losing Juan Bernat to an ACL injury in a 1-0 victory against Metz.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to reinforce his left-back position and provide potential cover for the English full-back, Luke Shaw. With one year left on Telle’s contract, the Portuguese club are looking to offload the Brazilian international now rather than losing him later for free. With time on their side, Manchester United is taking things slow in order to seal the deal and acquire the Brazilian left back’s services.
