Inter Milan are interested in signing a Paris Saint-Germain player this month with a swap deal or direct purchase touted as possibilities.
Inter Milan have transfer-listed Christian Eriksen this month and remain keen on offloading him. The Danish international has failed to settle into the San Siro since his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur last summer and does not fit into Antonio Conte’s plans heading forward. The Nerazzurri have already shortlisted a replacement for him.
La Gazzetta has claimed that Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes is now the prime target for the Italians. The Argentinian arrived at the Parc des Princes from Zenit St. Petersburg two years ago, but he has never cemented his place into the regular PSG line-up. Paredes’ situation has worsened over the last few months with the likes of Ander Herrera, Idrissa Gueye and Marco Verratti have become indisputable starters.
Paredes is open to the idea of a winter switch to the Serie A and PSG themselves would like to sell him. The Ligue 1 champions are keen on renewing the contracts of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, as well as have a shot at signing Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos– which provides enough reasoning for their idea of selling deadwood midway through the season.
Moreover, Mauricio Pochettino, having taken over the managerial duties from Thomas Tuchel, is likely to have a productive summer as well in terms of transfers. Dele Alli has also been linked with a move to Paris and that could further push Paredes down the pecking order. PSG are likely to demand in the range of 25 million euros for Paredes’ services, but a swap deal involving Eriksen has not entirely been ruled out.
Eriksen had some of his best years under Pochettino and a reunion with him in France is also on the cards. For all parties concerned, this would be an incredibly fruitful deal.
While PSG could either get a respectable sum of money or a fantastic attacking midfielder who has excelled under their current manager, Inter Milan will get their hands on a talented star while parting with a player clearly out of their plans.
