Neymar persuades former teammate Lionel Messi to join him at Paris Saint-Germain after the Argentine’s fallout with Barcelona.

Ligue-1 side Paris Saint-Germain has had a relatively extraordinary 2019/2020 season by reaching the UEFA Champions League final and having a shot to win the treble. The Parisiens always seem to dominate the domestic scene so that does not come much as a surprise to the fans, however, lifting the Champions League trophy is a big deal for any club and it is a title that the team is trying to bring to the French capital for many years.

With a great side, PSG was able to reach the finals this year but lost to an excellent Bayern Munich, who has thrashed every team they have faced. Coach Thomas Tuchel would be looking to make the squad even stronger than they already are for next season. With many stars departing, like Edinson Cavani and Thiago Silva, and other players like Thomas Meunier and Eric Maxim-Choupo-Moting, the wage bill would have freed up quite a bit and the German can look forward to making more world-class signings to reinforce the squad.

Reportedly, Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has been talking on the telephone with former teammate Lionel Messi about a potential move to the Parc des Princes. The Argentinian is not happy with Barcelona and, with continuous streaks of terrible performances, an incompetent board, and a corrupt president the feelings of the iconic number 10 are justified. The 33-year-old is tired of making promises of bringing back the Champions League to Camp Nou, and not being able to fulfill them because of the team.

With a marginally better campaign in the European competition, the addition of one of the best players in football history would only make it better for the Ligue-1 champions. With Messi, the attacking trio of the French side would feature 3 out of the 4 best players in the world with the likes of Neymar Jr, Kylian Mbappe and Messi himself. The Ligue-1 side would be a nightmare for defenders and teams all around Europe if a move does pull through.

The Parisiens are only one of the few teams that can afford the services of the Barcelona legend and with Messi almost certain to leave the Catalan club it remains to be seen where he will play next season.
