Napoli reignite their interest in Kieran Tierney as the Italian side are eager on signing the Arsenal full-back at the end of the season.
Napoli had gone head to head in the summer of 2019 with Arsenal for the signing of Kieran Tierney. However, it was Unai Emery who managed to convince the Scottish defender ahead of Napoli and signed the promising talent for 25 million pounds. What followed after his move to the Emirates Stadium was a disaster as Tierney suffered an injury ridden season.
However, the extended break due to the COVID-19 pandemic provided the former Celtic left-back to recover in time for the business end of the season. Tierney’s post-pandemic break performance had caught the eyes of many supporters which saw him rack up the player of the month in June.
Fast forward to the new season, Tierney is an Arsenal star after his recent dominant performances. Some even believe that the Scottish left-back is better than Andrew Robertson since he can attack and defend equally well, unlike the Liverpool left-back. The 23-year-old’s performances have now caught the eye of Napoli once again who have reignited their interest.
The Telegraph reports that Napoli plan on approaching Arsenal in the summer transfer window. The Gunners certainly will not tolerate any offer from Napoli or any other side as they would prefer to keep Tierney at the Emirates Stadium for as long as possible. The Naples based side will have to look at other options instead.
Kieran Tierney will remain at Arsenal despite the rumours circulating in the media. The Scottish defender has settled down well at the Emirates Stadium and has now even grown into a popular figure amongst the fans following his recent run of performances. An injury-free season has seen the 23-year-old propel into new heights and the best has yet come from him.
