Tottenham continue to persist for a central defender with Milan Skriniar being their primary target.
Going forward with the 2020-2021 season, Tottenham Hotspur would be hoping to end their long-lasting trophy drought and have a serious shot at winning a few titles. An argument can be made that the current squad for the Lilywhites is the best they have seen for the last few years with the incomings of Gareth Bale on a season-long loan and Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid.
To go along with that, the Premier League side also have as their coach, one of the best managers of the generation Jose Mourinho, who has a reputation of winning titles with whatever team he coaches.
The attacking power of the team looks solid, however, the team could still use some improvements in defence with the addition of a quality centre-back. Mourinho seems to have recognised this problem and according to reports will be looking to add Inter Milan’s star defender Milan Skriniar to the team. But, as it stands, both the teams are very far apart from reaching a middle ground for negotiating a move.
The asking price that the Serie A giants have put on the 25-year-old is around 60 million euros, but Spurs have only offered a deal of 30 million euros plus a list of add-ons that will push the fee to 45 million euros. A solution to this problem did come up, with Inter asking for a cash plus player deal where they would accept the 30 million and take Tanguy Ndombele as the additional player, this deal was rejected almost instantly as the English side do not wish to part with the Frenchman.
However, all hopes are not lost for the norht London side. Antonio Conte is in the market for a midfielder, the initial target being N’Golo Kante but due to price issues, he had to look elsewhere for replacements. Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko could be the perfect candidate for this role and could very well be included in the transfer talks of Milan Skriniar.
If a good enough deal is proposed, Inter might consider the initial deal of a player plus cash swap deal which would feature Sissoko arriving at the San Siro.
