Jose Mourinho of Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly clashed with the club’s board over a major dispute of signing a Real Madrid striker
Jose Mourinho has always been portrayed in the media as a villain in the game of football because of his attitude and personality. However, this time, the former Chelsea manager has desperately asked the Tottenham Hotspur board to sign a back-up striker for Harry Kane. It seems like there has been a major dispute over Jose’s recent request as the board turned down an offer to sign a prolific goal scorer.
The Express reports that Mourinho has asked for the signing of Luka Jovic of Real Madrid, however, the board decided to turn down Real’s offer as the club were not interested in the Serbian. This decision has infuriated the Portuguese manager who highly rates the former Bundesliga man.
Luka Jovic has had a nightmare at Real since he completed his move in the summer of 2019. The 60 million euro signing barely featured for Los Blancos in his debut season. After being handed two starts this season, the expectations for the former Benfica man have been over the roof.
It has been reported that Zinedine Zidane was willing to discard his very own signing and Jose Mourinho was more than happy to welcome the player with open arms. However, with the Spurs board ruling out the offer for Luka Jovic, Jose Mourinho’s pursuit for a back-up a striker gets more complicated.
Reports now state that Mourinho has shortlisted Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik. The 26-year-old Polish striker would be an ideal signing, however, like Kane, Milik is injury prone as well. It has been reported that Lilywhites have prepared for a 25 million pound deal to sign the striker this summer.
Gareth Bale has also returned to training with the senior squad and it is yet to be seen on how Jose Mourinho incorporates the Welsh winger into the squad. Many believe that the forward line could comprise of Heung-Min Son, Harry Kane, and Gareth Bale.
