In search of a right-winger, Manchester United have their sights on Newcastle’s star attacker after a disappointing transfer window.

Last weekend was one to forget for the Manchester United fans as they were battered by Jose Mourinho’s rejuvenated Tottenham Hotspur. Regarded as one of the worst performances of the season by any top European club, Manchester United managed to concede six goals for the first time in almost 10 years.

After the international break, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s United faces a stern test against Newcastle, who currently sit ninth in the Premier League table. The Magpies have started their season in great fashion as they managed to earn seven points out of the possible 12, whilst also beating the Red Devils at the St. James’ Park last season.

Among all the great players at Steve Bruce‘s disposal at Newcastle, there is one particular figure that has managed to stand out from the rest in the Newcastle dressing room- Allan Saint-Maximin.

The French winger arrived at the English club last year for a sum of 18 million euros and caught everyone’s eyes with his magnificent growth. The former Nice player has been the focal point of Newcastle’s attack this season and plays an integral role in what happens in the final-third.

A good performance against the Red Devils could see him earn a move to Old Trafford in the next transfer as Manchester United have failed to secure Jadon Sancho‘s services this summer. The French winger ticks all boxes to be Manchester United’s next recruitment as he considered as one of the cheaper alternatives too.

Allan Saint-Maximin’s acquisition could prove to be vital for Manchester United’s plans to rebuild their squad for the long term.

His perfect combination of physicality and pace could be the final piece to their attacking puzzle and his ability to drift wide on the wings would certainly help the Red Devils to stretch their opposition in the final third and keeping the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford with ample space down the middle.

The French winger is valued at 28 million euros by the Magpies and the Premier League giants could certainly consider the 23-year-old as an option for years to come. United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjær will surely try to reinforce his squad in the winter transfer window after the latest embarrassment but all signs point towards them waiting for Jadon Sancho, at least for the time being.
