Manchester United target has reportedly turned down an offer from Juventus as the player is keen on an Old Trafford switch next summer
Manchester United has one of the strongest midfield in Europe with the likes of Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, and Donny van de Beek. The Red Devils have been able to reap rewards due to the presence of a quality midfield and have improved as a team with every game.
In recent weeks, there have been speculations regarding the club showing interest for AC Milan star Hakan Calhanoglu and may sign the midfielder next summer. The Turkish international is yet to sign an extension with his club but if reports are to be believed then the chances of agreeing to a new contract seem to be off the table as the player is not happy with the offered wages and reportedly has refused to renew with the Rossoneri.
According to German journalist Christian Falk, the former Leverkusen man has rejected an offer from Juventus and instead is keen to join United next summer. The English outfit will be able to sign the talented playmaker on a free transfer next season which altogether makes it a lucrative deal for the Red Devils.
In the ongoing season, the AC Milan midfielder has started his campaign on a bright note as the Turkish international has scored four goals and one assist in nine appearances across all competitions. As a team, the Rossoneri have performed well this season as the Italian club are presently table toppers in Serie A.
Manchester United, on the other hand, has been inconsistent with their performances this season as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s side has made the worst start to their Premier League since David Moyes’s tenure in 2013. The club faced their third league defeat in 6 games as they were beaten by Arsenal at home.
The Red Devils will be looking to recruit more players next summer in a bid to iron out the present flaws in the team. However, the prospect of bringing another midfielder to the current setup might upset the balance of the side as the club has plenty of options in their midfield department. Calhanoglu might find some room in this congested roster if Paul Pogba leaves next summer which in return will make the Turkish playmaker an excellent alternative for the English side.
