Manchester United are just one step away from signing Jadon Sancho
Although every Manchester United fan right now is sulking in agony as Liverpool have been crowned champions of England after 30 years since their last win in 1990. The Reds of the Premier League celebrated their title win after Chelsea’s Willian slotted home the match-winning goal from the spot-kick in the 78th minute after Fernandinho of Manchester City was sent off for a handball on the goal line.
However, the misery that the supporters of Manchester United feel today might be put to an end, as per the reports from the Express claim that United see clear daylight in their pursuit to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
The 20-year-old English winger has taken the Bundesliga by a storm this season after scoring 17 goals along with providing 16 assists in the German top-flight division. His impressive performances for the last two seasons in Germany has seen him being heavily linked to a move to either Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid this summer.
However, Chelsea has already made two huge signings after securing Hakim Ziyech from Ajax Amsterdam and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig. Currently, Frank Lampard‘s side are negotiating with Ben Chilwell of Leicester City and Kai Havertz of Bayern Leverkusen and it seems like the Blues will not be making further signings which technically rules out Jadon Sancho as well.
Meanwhile, at Real Madrid, the board consider the player to be an ideal replacement for Gareth Bale on the right-wing, however, reports claim that Dortmund demands a figure more than 100 million euros. Real currently find themselves in a tight space financially along with Barcelona who are in the same boat and the only signing that the Los Blancos would be making this summer would be Eduardo Camavinga from Ligue 1.
Since all the potential suitors for Jadon Sancho are technically out of the competition to sign the England international, Manchester United has the green signal to go all in and snatch the prized winger who has already matured into a world-class forward at the tender age of 20. An attacking lineup consisting of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, and Sancho would be magical to watch at the theatre of dreams.
The Red Devils have the golden opportunity to sign Sancho due to their financial backing and it all boils down to Ed Woodward, who has received a lot of hate at the club due to his lack of interest shown towards the club in terms of signing players. This might be Ed Woodward’s best shot at winning the hearts of the United fans by signing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
What do you make of the England international snitching on his boyhood club, Manchester City, and signing for their arch city-rivals instead?
