Manchester United eyeing exciting acquisitions as they plan to raid a German franchise to fortify attacking options

It was a dismal summer transfer window for Manchester United with the majority of the signings acquired on the deadline day. In their quest to fortify their squad, the Red Devils managed to recruit players such as Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles, Amad Diallo, and Facundo Pellestri.

Having missed out on their long-term target Jadon Sancho, the 3-time Champions League winners plan yet another attempt at clinching the 20-year-old Englishman from Borussia Dortmund. Alongside the former Manchester City player, Red Devils are contemplating a move for the in-form marksman, Erling Braut-Haaland.

The English club endured a tough start to the season when Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur emerged victorious at Old Trafford and Red Devils managed to secure a late win at the Amex Stadium against Brighton and Hove Albion in an unconvincing fashion. However, the succession of victories against Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain has positively motivated the squad.

Reports suggest that the Norwegian manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had personally confronted Haaland in order to strike a deal that would have seen the 20-year-old join the English club in the winter transfer window. However, Manchester United president, Ed Woodward withdrew from the negotiations due to disagreement on agent fees and insistence on the release clause.

The United boss Solskjaer has conveyed his choices for the upcoming winter transfer market. However, things might change if the Norwegian is dismissed from his job as the head coach. A discharge is well on the cards if Manchester United continues to underperform in the ongoing season.

Manchester United began their pursuit for their top target in the summer transfer window and since then, they have failed to match Dortmund’s valuation of 108 million pounds for Jadon Sancho.  Although the United boss has picked his targets, it seems highly unlikely that the English side would recruit them in January.

It would be interesting to see how Manchester United acquires the desired players while facing stern competition from the rivals clubs in the summer transfer window. It would certainly benefit the English team if they manage to land all their desired targets.
