Manchester United line-up a shock move for Leicester City superstar after growing tired of their player’s recent run of performance.

David de Gea of Manchester United was considered amongst the world’s best up until a few seasons ago. He was regarded as the only player keeping them afloat with his marvelous and impressive abilities in front of the goal. But since the 2018 World Cup, the Spaniard has struggled and his performances have dropped at a steady rate.

With the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the signing of Bruno Fernandes, the team has played incredibly, with tonnes of pace, flair, and goal-scoring threat. However, one department where they have majorly lacked in is the defense which was made better with the addition of Harry Maguire but is still in need of major upgrades.

One such required upgrade is the aforementioned replacement of star David de Gea. Even though the Red Devils have a quality keeper in Dean Henderson, who is out on loan to Sheffield United. Ole has decided not to trust him with the responsibility of playing for the first team seeing the player is only 23 years old and might need a few more years of experience before being the first choice.

One player who the Norwegian coach thinks can fill the spot is Leicester City keeper Kasper Schmeichel, who just so happens to be the son of legendary Manchester United player Peter Schmeichel, according to The Sun. The 33-year-old is still going strong for his age and can provide a great deal of experience and leadership to the side along with his abilities on the goal-line.

The Red Devils do not have many options either, as they were looking to buy 27-year-old Jan Oblak from Atletico Madrid who is regarded as one of the best if not the best in the world, but he turned out to be too expensive at a staggering 109 million euros and is now heavily linked with Frank Lampard’s Chelsea.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be looking to replace the Spaniard as he can’t trust him anymore due to his declining performances. If United wants a chance to lift any silverware in the coming seasons they have to replace the weak links in the team, and a major one seems to be the former Atletico Madrid star.
